Suno Common Problems & Solutions: Troubleshooting Guide
Fix ignored tags, wrong lyrics, AI artifacts, slow generation, and more — a practical Suno troubleshooting guide for creators.
Every Suno creator hits rough patches. This guide covers the most common Suno problems and proven fixes.
Suno Ignores My Style Tags
Cause: Prompt too long or vague words dilute priority.
Fix:
- Put genre and mood in the first line of the Style field
- Remove filler: “beautiful amazing song” →
indie pop, melancholic, 85 BPM - Use Custom Mode instead of Simple Mode for control
Wrong Lyrics or Garbled Words
Cause: Lyrics too long, uncommon words, or language mismatch.
Fix:
- Shorten verses; Suno handles 2–4 line sections best
- For Chinese: use Suno V5.5 and add
mandarin, clear pronunciationin style - Split long songs with Extend rather than one giant lyric block
Song Cuts Off Early
Cause: Default generation length or prompt conflict.
Fix:
- Use Extend to continue from the last bar
- Check you are on a plan that supports full-length output
- Suno V5.5 supports up to 8 minutes on supported tiers
Sounds Too “AI” or Generic
Fix:
- Add specific instruments and production tags:
tape saturation, room reverb, live drums - Train a Suno Custom Model on 6+ tracks in your style
- Use Voice Clone for recognizable vocal identity
Slow Generation or Queue
Fix:
- Peak hours have longer queues — try off-peak times
- Generate 2 versions and pick the best (standard Suno workflow)
- Studio edits can fix issues without re-burning credits on full regens
Voice Clone Sounds Robotic
Fix:
- Upload 20 sec–8 min of clean vocals (less background noise)
- Re-record with consistent mic distance and no effects
- Match style prompts to your natural range (don’t force opera on a rap voice)
